A May 2008 article on the Sierra County Sentinel’s website told of the southern New Mexico city of Truth or Consequences’ ongoing efforts to prepare their municipal swimming pool for the upcoming summer.

Crews drained the pool of all its water, emptied its 210,000 gallons onto the grass of the town’s Clancy Street Park, and set to work on May 13 blasting the empty pool with a high-pressure cleaning system.

Area residents are advised that, although the pool’s slides may appear fun and colorful, they are not to be used until the pool’s cleaning is complete—at least not until the pool’s water has been replaced.

Something strange needs to happen FAST. Photo from the Sentinel.
In other Sierra County news, Bert Tilpsen, longtime Mayor of Tinytown, met this week with Gigantor, Ruler of All He Surveys.
Seriously, what an odd photo. From the Sentinel.
The two men discussed ideas for a mutually agreeable economic strategy, and their meeting appears to have been a mostly amicable one, one from which Tilpsen was pleased to have escaped without being eaten.
